With our modern HydroChill® cooling technology, we've combatted summertime heat in an intelligent and simple way. A basic addition to the turf’s infill provides an average cooling range of 30-50 degrees and works automatically when watered by irrigation, rainfall, and dew.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

EVAPORATIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGY

Perspiration is a natural cause of thermoregulation known as evaporative cooling. Evaporation of wetness from the skin's surface has a cooling effect. Similarly, HydroChill® has proven to cool artificial putting surfaces by working on the same principle. As the turf surface is heated by solar radiation, water kept in the HydroChill® turf is released. Evaporating wetness eliminates heat, leaving a cooler, more pleasant surface for the players.

• HydroChill® uses moisture to create a cooling effect. Rainfall, dew, and irrigation can help keep your lawn cool for days, contingent on local weather.
• HydroChill® can be integrated into a majority of Southwest Greens' infilled lawn systems.
• HydroChill® will not alter the stability or warranty of Southwest Greens’ products.
• HydroChill® is UV-resistant and must be re-treated every two years for max efficiency.

WHEN IS IT MOST EFFECTIVE?

Environmental temperature outside doesn't completely dictate surface temperature. The solar radiation time period, the sun's angle, cloud cover, wind, and other elements all contribute to the temperature of the surface.

HydroChill® gives you maximum benefit when the sun is closer to the Earth, as demonstrated in the solar radiation calendar. During the summer months in Las Vegas, the sun is positioned high in the sky, causing surfaces to soak up more heat, resulting in higher temperatures. The Earth's rotation is likewise responsible for hourly variations in the sun's light and making HydroChill® most effective during the hotter part of a clear day when needed most.
